{"id":402,"date":"2013-05-22T22:28:45","date_gmt":"2013-05-22T22:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.openmeasurements.net\/wordpress\/?p=402"},"modified":"2016-08-08T11:25:15","modified_gmt":"2016-08-08T11:25:15","slug":"first-teaser-of-huge-measurement-series-in-the-cathedral-of-lausanne-switzerland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.openmeasurements.net\/wordpress\/?p=402","title":{"rendered":"Huge measurement series of RIR in the Cathedral of Lausanne"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a joint project, the <a href=\"http:\/\/lcav.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\">Institute for Audiovisual Communications (LCAV)<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\">EPFL<\/a>, Switzerland, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.akustik.rwth-aachen.de\" target=\"_blank\">Institute of Technical Acoustics (ITA)<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rwth-aachen.de\" target=\"_blank\">RWTH Aachen University<\/a>, Germany, carried out a huge measurement series of Room Impulse Responses (RIR) in the Cathedral of Lausanne. Using state-of-the-art measurement technology, over 600 RIRs and nearly 90 Binaural RIRs (BRIR), each with a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of over 70dB (broadband), were acquired resulting in a dense three-dimensional grid of high quality impulse response measurements over the entire seating area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The complete set of RIRs\/BRIRs along with a detailed description of the measurements<\/span> is given here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/rr.epfl.ch\/demos\/eCathedral\" target=\"_blank\">Reproducible Research Repository &#8211; eCathedral<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As a small teaser, enjoy an examplary auralization of measured BRIRs, packaged within a beautiful 360-degree visual tour in- and outside the Cathedral. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Please make sure to wear appropriate headphones<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Click on the image below to start the audio-visual tour.
